Back pain is a common and often debilitating condition. To reduce back pain, try to keep your spine in proper alignment, practice good posture when sitting or standing, use a supportive chair at work or home, stretch regularly throughout the day and engage in regular physical activity.

If the back pain persists for more than two weeks then it’s wise to seek medical advice from your doctor. Your doctor may recommend medications, physical therapy, or other treatments to help reduce the pain. In addition to the above, it is important to make sure you are getting enough rest and eating a healthy diet.

Avoiding activities that cause strain on your back may also help reduce pain.

Applying ice or heat to your back, using a heating pad, taking hot baths and massaging the area may also help reduce pain. If your back pain is accompanied by numbness or weakness in the legs, it is important to seek medical attention right away.

Differential Leucocyte count https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/differential-leucocyte-count/ https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/differential-leucocyte-count/#respond Sat, 18 Feb 2023 10:03:11 +0000 https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/?p=382 …]]> The differential leukocyte count is a laboratory test used to measure the number of different types of white blood cells in a person’s sample of blood.

Types of White blood cell

—Neutrophil  – Neutrophils are the most abundant (40% to 70%) type of white blood cells .Their main function is engulfing and destroying the bacteria,.

—Lymphocytes  – Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell. They help your body’s immune system fight against foreign viruses and bacteria.  These cells are responsible for antibody production.

—Eosinophil   – Eosinophils are a type of disease-fighting white blood cell. This condition most often indicates a parasitic infection, an allergic reaction.

—Monocytes  Monocytes call on other white blood cells to help treat injury and prevent infection.

—Basophils  – Basophils are a type of white blood cell. Basophils are the least common type of granulocyte, representing about 0.5% to 1% of circulating white blood cells.

When to test Differential Leucocyte count ?

It is used to help diagnose infections and other conditions, such as leukemia and other forms of cancer.

The test measures the number of neutrophils, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, and basophils in the sample.

The results can help a doctor diagnose an infection, determine if a person has an immune system disorder, or assess how well a person’s body is responding to treatment for a medical condition.

NORMAL RANGE

—Neutrophil     –    50-70 %

—Lymphocyte   –    20-40 %

—Eosinophil     –     1-6 %

—Monocyte     –      0-5 %

—Basophil       –       0-1 %

Sample – EDTA

What is CBC ( Complete Blood Count) ? https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/what-is-cbc-complete-blood-count/ https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/what-is-cbc-complete-blood-count/#respond Tue, 17 Jan 2023 04:19:53 +0000 https://gmdiagnosticsandpolyclinic.com/?p=310 …]]> The complete blood count (CBC) is a commonly ordered blood test that is used to provide information regarding a person’s overall health. It measures the number of red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC), platelets, and hemoglobin in the blood. It also measures the hematocrit, which is the ratio of red blood cells to the total volume of blood. Additionally, the CBC can measure other parameters such as the mean cell volume (MCV), mean cell hemoglobin (MCH), mean cell hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), and the red cell distribution width (RDW). The CBC is an important test because it can help to detect and diagnose many different types of medical conditions. For example, a high RBC count may indicate that a person is anemic, while a low RBC count may signify a lack of oxygen in the blood. A high WBC count may be indicative of an infection or inflammation, while a low WBC count could suggest a weakened immune system. A decreased platelet count could be a sign of a bleeding disorder, while an increased platelet count could indicate the presence of a clotting disorder. The CBC is typically ordered as part of a comprehensive physical exam or when a person is experiencing certain symptoms, such as fatigue, fever, or weight loss. It is also used to monitor the effects of certain treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Overall, the CBC is a valuable tool for healthcare professionals as it can provide important information about a person’s health and help to detect and diagnose a variety of medical conditions. It is important to note, however, that a CBC should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical information in order to make an accurate diagnosis.
